The Health Ministry - 1 Care mandatory for all Malaysians
The Health Ministry said today that the 1 Care national healthcare proposal will be made mandatory for all Malaysians.
No specific details yet as to how the proposed scheme or rather health insurance works.
It is expected to provide coverage for any medical expenses.
Would government hospital be appointed as one of the penal instituition/doctors to attend to ICare patient?
If govt hospital is to be one of its penal, then the govt hospital would become a profit making entity and compete with private practitioner.
How and what is the criteria of appointment of penal doctors / medical instituition?
I-Care would also compete with other private insurance company over medical related insurance business.
When it is made mandatory, there is no more insurable interest on the part of the participant and the interest is then transferred to the imposer (Govt who make this scheme mandatory and the body that runs the scheme) .When the insurable interest is in the hand of the imposer, while the protection is on the participant, this would not serve the interest of the participant to the fullest because the imposers interest is not on the protection but rather on profit of running the scheme.
