LAKU 40% DISCOUNT PROPOSED BY CAM MIRI SHOULD BE BORNED BY THE BITUMEN PLANT COMPANY

In response to CAM Miri (Borneo Post March 11) requested that LAKU to allow a 40% discount on water bill for the month in which supply was disrupted,  such allowance of discount should not be borned by LAKU at all.

Laku has acted responsibly to contain the spillage of diesel to the catchment area and at the same time took the necessary responsible steps to get rid of diesel that got into the treatment plant and resumed supply within a reasonable time although it failed to notify the public immediately of the problem which had caused considerable panic and confusion among the public.

If such arrangement were to be made by LAKU - compensate the consumers, the cost incurred or suffered by LAKU resulting from a 40% cut in its revenue on the consumer's water bill should be charged to the bitumen plant company - the real culprit behind the suffering, losses and discomfort !!!
